Protest in Palandri, clash between Awami Action Committee and JUI workers

A clash broke out between Awami Action Committee and JUI workers during a program of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) at Diwan Gorah in Palandri, Pakistan-administered Kashmir, resulting in several injuries.

According to eyewitnesses and members of the Awami Action Committee, they were peacefully recording their protest against the JUI program when JUI workers allegedly attacked them with sticks and knives. The committee representatives alleged that force was used to stop them from protesting.

Several people were injured during the clash, who were shifted to nearby health facilities for first aid. Police reached the spot as soon as the incident was reported and brought the situation under control. The police have recorded the statements of both the groups and started an investigation.

Local circles have expressed concern over the incident and demanded that action be taken against those responsible to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.
