The ongoing roadblocks, shutter-down strikes and sit-ins organized by the Joint Public Action Committee in Pakistan-administered Jammu and Kashmir have been ongoing for 33 days, while the internet service shutdown has completed 37 days.
Protesters say that normal life has been badly affected due to the prolonged shutdown and government measures.
According to the protest leadership, people in different areas are facing severe difficulties due to the government’s ban on the supply of food and beverages.
They maintain that the disruption in access to food and basic necessities is a serious violation of human rights and the relevant institutions should take immediate notice of this situation.
On the other hand, due to the continuous internet shutdown, students, freelancers, businessmen and people from other walks of life are also suffering severe financial and educational losses.
The victims say that despite the suspension of communication facilities for a long time, no effective steps have been taken to resolve their problems.
It should be noted that various quarters are expressing concern over this situation, while the protest leadership is expressing its determination to continue the protest until their demands are approved.
