Reports published in the British media regarding Rukhsar Ahmed, the newly elected MLA of Pakistan Muslim League (N) for constituency LA-4 Mirpur in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, have sparked a new debate in political circles.
According to reports, Rukhsar Ahmed was arrested in July 2024 in connection with an investigation into alleged child sexual abuse and human trafficking in the UK, but was later released on bail.
According to the British newspaper The Guardian, he was supposed to appear before the police last month, but he did not appear, citing illness. The British police investigation is ongoing, but he has not yet been charged or convicted by any court.
On the other hand, Raja Saqib Majeed, the newly elected member of the Muslim League (N) from Constituency 5 Khaora Muzaffarabad, has been accused in the past by the Public Action Committee of being involved in the shooting of committee workers and the killing of a worker in the incident of September 29, 2025. However, no court decision has been confirmed on these allegations, and Raja Saqib Majeed has also denied or taken a stand on these allegations on various occasions.
