Young poet Ahmed Farhad on hunger strike for 24 hours, health condition critical

Young poet Ahmed Farhad, imprisoned in Pakistan-administered Jammu and Kashmir for supporting the Awami Action Committee movement, has been on a hunger strike for the past 24 hours, due to which concerns have increased about his health.

According to reports, his vital signs are falling rapidly during the hunger strike, while the pain of IBS has also intensified.

According to sources, Ahmed Farhad’s current medical condition is said to be critical and he needs immediate medical attention. There are fears that his physical condition will be further affected due to the continuous hunger strike.

On the other hand, since August 10, the police have been taking a stand that no further investigation is being conducted with Ahmed Farhad, while the district administration says that the matter is no longer under its jurisdiction.

In view of the situation, questions are being raised about Ahmed Farhad’s health, his current detention status and the role of the relevant institutions. The family and concerned quarters are demanding that his health be immediately assessed and necessary medical facilities be provided.

It should be remembered that Ahmed Faryad was previously subjected to enforced disappearance by the Pakistani army and intelligence agencies and his arrest was later revealed.
