Gwadar: Attack on Pakistan Coast Guard boats; reports of over 15 personnel killed

Reports have been received regarding the deaths of more than 15 personnel following an attack on two Pakistan Coast Guard boats at sea, near the Jiwani tehsil of the coastal city of Gwadar, Balochistan.

So far, officials have not issued a statement regarding the casualties. According to local sources, increased movement of security forces has been observed in Jiwani following the incident. Security forces have recalled local fishermen from the sea and prohibited them from venturing out until further orders.

No armed organization has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.

It is worth noting that Pakistani forces have previously been targeted at sea. The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) had formed a dedicated unit for maritime operations known as the ‘Hammal Maritime Defence Force.’

This unit had previously targeted a Pakistan Navy patrol boat near Jiwani at a location called ‘Mil Tiyab’ on April 12, 2026, resulting in the deaths of three personnel: Naik Afzal, Sepoy Jameel, and Sepoy Umar.
