The situation on the Abu Dhabi, Israel and Iran-US fronts has become more complicated amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
Abu Dhabi authorities have confirmed that two people were killed and three were injured when a missile fell, while several vehicles were also damaged. According to authorities, Iran has so far launched more than 2,100 missile and drone attacks on the UAE, most of which have been intercepted, but there are severe obstacles to access to information. More than 100 people have been arrested so far for taking photos or videos of the attacks.
Britain has warned its citizens that posting content critical of the Emirati government is also illegal.
Officials say a long-term ban on its missile and drone programs is essential for any potential talks with Iran, while the Iranian attacks have forced the Emirates to further strengthen its security ties with Washington.
Meanwhile, Israel’s emergency service, Magen David Adom, said that six people were taken to hospital with injuries after a missile attack on central Israel. Several homes were damaged in the city of Kafr Qassem. The Israeli military said the missiles were fired from Iran.
The United Arab Emirates has also announced that it is deploying air defense systems to intercept ballistic missiles, while fighter jets are in the air to shoot down drones. This is the third warning issued by the Ministry of Defense since Wednesday night.
In this context, the rhetorical war between Iran and the United States has also intensified.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards had claimed that they had shot down a US F-18 fighter jet near Chabahar during the war and also released a video of it. However, the US Central Command quickly denied this claim, saying that this news was not true.
Rising tensions in the region, the spread of missile attacks, and Iran-US rhetoric have raised fears that the effects of war could spread to more countries, while recent attacks in the UAE and Israel are further highlighting this instability.
