Residents of the upper areas are facing severe difficulties due to the road being closed in Hopar area of Ghizer district of Gilgit-Baltistan under Pakistan administration for the past four days.
According to local sources, the road was to be closed for only two days as per the schedule, however, despite the passage of the stipulated time, there is still no sign of the road being opened.
The road closure has affected the delivery of essential goods in the area, while patients and passengers are also facing severe problems.
Locals say that the public’s difficulties are increasing due to the administration and the concerned contractor not restoring it in time.
The people have demanded that the district administration take immediate notice and restore the road as soon as possible so that normal life can be restored.
