The issue of non-return of the official vehicle used by Pakistan-administered Jammu and Kashmir’s former Transport Minister Javed Butt has taken a serious turn, while the said vehicle has now become a junkyard due to long-term use and lack of maintenance.
According to sources, Javed Butt has not only failed to return the official vehicle despite his separation from the ministry, but has also allegedly been using official fuel, although he no longer holds any official position and does not have any legal justification for using official resources.
In the available video evidence, it can be seen that the expensive Fortuner vehicle, which is said to be worth crores of rupees, is parked in a dilapidated condition in the Blue Area of Islamabad and its condition has deteriorated due to lack of proper maintenance.
Citizens and social organizations have expressed concern over the situation and demanded that immediate notice be taken of the illegal use of government assets and action be taken against those responsible.
Furthermore, allegations have also surfaced that Javed Butt is being given illegal access to government resources in exchange for using them against the Action Committee, which is not only a violation of the law but also a waste of national resources.
Public circles have demanded that the relevant agencies immediately conduct a transparent investigation into the matter and that the national exchequer be saved from further loss by taking back the government vehicle.
