Missing Mortuary Machine Revealed in Muzaffarabad

The alleged disappearance of a modern cold storage machine used in the mortuary (morgue) of Mirwaiz Medical College Muzaffarabad, located in Muzaffarabad, the capital of Pakistan-administered Kashmir, has been revealed, raising serious questions about the management.

According to sources, the medical college building was shifted about six months ago, during which the expensive machinery used in the mortuary was also to be shifted. However, it has now come to light that the cold storage machine used to store the dead is not present at the new location.

Interestingly, this matter has not come to light despite the passage of six months and its reporting in the media has come to light today, raising questions about the transparency and monitoring system.

According to sources, the missing mortuary machine is said to be worth about Rs 6 million, which was part of an important medical facility. Its absence could not only cause financial loss but also affect the provision of medical services.

Following the incident, civic groups and social organizations are demanding an immediate and transparent investigation into the matter and legal action to identify those responsible.

This incident not only indicates institutional negligence but also shows that further improvements are needed in the transfer and monitoring system of sensitive medical devices.
