Citizens protested in Aliabad against the arrest of Awami Action Committee Gilgit-Baltistan Chairman Ehsan Ali Advocate and other leaders in Pakistan-administered Gilgit-Baltistan.
A large number of political and social activists and locals participated in the demonstration.
The protesters held placards and banners with slogans against the arrests, while they also shouted strong slogans against the government.
The participants demanded the immediate release of Ehsan Ali Advocate and other arrested leaders.
The speakers said in their addresses that the public voice cannot be suppressed by the arrest of public representatives.
They said that Awami Action Committee Gilgit-Baltistan has always been active for the rights of the people and such steps cannot weaken the movement.
The protesters warned that if the leaders are not released immediately, the scope of the protest will be further expanded.
Later, the demonstration ended peacefully.
