IRGC targets US airbase that attacked Iran

In response to the US airstrike near the Iranian city of Bandar Abbas, the IRGC has claimed to have targeted the US base from which the attacks on Iran were launched.

The Revolutionary Guards’ statement was published by the Tasnim news agency. According to it, ‘Today, after the US military carried out an airstrike near Bandar Abbas Airport, the US airbase from which the aggression was carried out was targeted at 4:50 am.’

According to the IRNA news agency, the IRGC said that ‘this response is a serious warning so that the enemy knows that the aggression will definitely be responded to, and if it is repeated, our response will be more decisive. The consequences will be the responsibility of the aggressor.

The Revolutionary Guards’ statement on the US base attack came at the same time as the Kuwaiti military’s statement that “Kuwait’s air defense system is currently repelling enemy missiles and drone attacks.”

However, it is not yet clear whether the attack described by the Revolutionary Guards and the Kuwaiti statement are related.

The US military’s Central Command, CENTCOM, also said in a statement on Thursday morning that it had targeted four Iranian drones and a drone launch site. CENTCOM described the attack as an act of self-defense.

On the other hand, the Tasnim news agency quoted a military source as saying that a US oil tanker tried to pass through the Strait of Hormuz with its radar turned off, and was forced to turn back after being fired warning shots.
