Pakistani Kashmir: Successful experience of modern agriculture, wave of happiness among farmers due to successful cultivation of mushrooms

Sardar Muhammad Kaleem Khan, a hardworking landowner from UC Rawali Kothian Salut area of ​​Bagh district of Pakistan-administered Jammu and Kashmir, has set a new example for other farmers in the area by successfully cultivating mushrooms. This effort, carried out under the guidance of the modern agricultural method and the Agriculture Department, was his first experience of mushroom cultivation, which proved to be very successful.

According to the details, the Agriculture Department, Circle Malott, Bagh district, provided regular training to Sardar Muhammad Kaleem Khan regarding mushroom cultivation and continued technical support and guidance at every stage from the start of cultivation to the preparation of the crop. Due to the effective strategy of the Agriculture Department and the hard work of the farmer, the mushroom harvest was very good and successful.

On this occasion, Sardar Muhammad Kaleem Khan expressed his happiness and satisfaction and thanked the Agriculture Department. He said that if the landowners pay attention to modern and profitable crops along with traditional agriculture, better income can be obtained in less cost and less space. He also advised the youth to adopt mushroom cultivation so that they can create decent employment opportunities.

He further said that mushroom cultivation is an easy and home-based business which women can also run successfully at home with a little training and hard work, which not only increases household income but also enables women to achieve economic independence.

Meanwhile, great tribute is also being paid to the services of Mr. Hafeez Sahib, Plant Pathologist in-charge of Mushroom Laboratory, Department of Agriculture, Muzaffarabad, who provided quality mushroom seeds (sapana) as well as technical guidance and full support at every stage. According to agricultural experts, these efforts of the Department of Agriculture are playing a very important role in promoting modern agricultural trends in the area and the prosperity of the landowners.
