All Azad Kashmir Doctors Association President Sardar Wajid Ali Khan has made a heartfelt appeal to the government, security agencies and Jammu Kashmir Joint Public Action Committee to declare Sheikh Zayed Bin Nahyan Hospital (CMH) Rawalakot as a completely neutral medical zone.
Talking to the media, Dr. Wajid Ali Khan appealed that the public crowds and sit-ins inside and outside the hospitals should be shifted to a suitable location, while security forces should also refrain from shelling and operations in and around the hospitals and open access to them completely for everyone. At this time, the only priority of doctors, nurses and medical staff is to save the lives of the injured and patients.
Due to tear gas and tense atmosphere, not only the injured but also other seriously ill patients, children, elderly and women are being affected. Hospitals are not a battlefield or a protest ground but are the last hope to save lives.
All parties are requested to keep differences and the movement’s operations in their place, but the sanctity of hospitals, the patients’ right to treatment, and the protection of human lives should be prioritized above everything else. Saving a life is the greatest national and human responsibility today.
