A large number of people took to the streets in different districts and cities of Pakistan-administered Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday on the protest call given by the Joint Awami Action Committee.
Women, children, elderly and youth participated in the protests and raised slogans in favor of their demands.
The protesters held rallies and demonstrations in several areas including Bhimber, Samahni, Dadial, Islamgarh, Mirpur, Kotli, Khoi Ratta, Tatta Pani, Hajira, Khai Gul, Thorad, Mang, Reh, Bir Pani, Sudhan Gali, Muzaffarabad, Jhelum Valley, Neelum. At many places, the participants held banners and placards on which slogans in favor of their demands were written.
The protesters said that they were peacefully protesting to achieve their fundamental rights and demanded that the relevant authorities take immediate and effective steps to resolve the public problems.
According to reports, protest rallies passed through the main highways in several cities, while public addresses were also given at various places. Overall, the protests remained peaceful, however, traffic flow was temporarily affected in some areas.
It should be noted that a large number of people participated in this protest call given by the Joint Awami Action Committee in different areas of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, which is being considered one of the largest public protests in recent times.
