The continuous shutdown of internet services in Pakistan-administered Jammu and Kashmir completed 48 days today, due to which students, freelancers, people involved in online business and common citizens are facing severe difficulties.
Complaints are being raised that educational activities, online business, banking, government and private affairs and daily communication are affected due to the unavailability of internet.
On the other hand, election activities of various political parties are ongoing in connection with the general elections in Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan Muslim League (N) leader Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also participated in the election campaign and addressed various rallies.
There is concern among citizens due to the internet shutdown. Public circles say that when common users have been deprived of internet service for the last 48 days, various questions are also arising regarding live coverage and online broadcasting of election rallies.
Citizens, students, freelancers, and the business community have demanded that internet service be restored immediately so that the difficulties faced by the public can be eliminated and all citizens can have access to communication facilities on an equal basis.
