A hearing took place today regarding the case of Shaukat Nawaz Mir—a core member of the Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee, an organization declared proscribed by the Government of Pakistan. The court scheduled the next hearing for September 30 and summoned SHO Dhirkot, Raja Sohail, to appear on that date.
Four lawyers, including Advocate Shahid Ali Awan and Advocate Asim Irshad, appeared in court on behalf of Shaukat Nawaz Mir.
During the proceedings, September 30 was set as the date for the next hearing.
Reports had previously emerged that Shaukat Nawaz Mir was arrested in Dhirkot on June 30; however, the SSP of Muzaffarabad later informed the court that Mir was not in police custody but had gone into hiding.
The next hearing of the case will be held on September 30.
