Reports have been received of armed individuals setting up blockades, conducting snap checks, opening fire, disarming police personnel, and destroying a hotel with an explosion across various areas of Balochistan, including Kharan, Kalat, Surab, Nushki, and Mastung.
According to sources, armed men established a blockade on the main highway in the Dali area of Kharan and systematically checked passing vehicles.
Similarly, reports indicate that armed men set up blockades and conducted snap checks on vehicles along the Quetta-Karachi National Highway in the Dasht-e-Goran area of Kalat.
There are also reports of blockades being set up by armed individuals in Surab district; eyewitnesses have reported the presence of women alongside the armed men.
Reports have also emerged regarding the entry and activities of armed individuals in the main city of Nushki district.
According to sources, armed men opened fire in front of a private bank in the city, disabling the bank’s security camera. No casualties or injuries have been confirmed in connection with this incident.
Subsequently, the armed men reached Tariq Chowk in the bazaar, where they disarmed two police officers present at the scene and seized their weapons.
Immediately following the incident, Nushki Bazaar was completely shut down, and commercial activities came to a halt.
Shortly thereafter, a heavy contingent of security forces arrived at the bazaar and cordoned off the area; however, no statement has been issued by government officials so far. Separately, yesterday evening, unidentified armed men targeted the Madina Hotel with explosives in the Reki Boz area of Khadkocha Tehsil, Mastung District.
The blast was so powerful that the entire hotel building collapsed, and an adjacent retail shop was completely destroyed.
Furthermore, approximately 250 solar panels belonging to nearby tube wells were rendered inoperable, and windowpanes in nearby houses were shattered, causing widespread panic and fear in the area.
Although no organization has yet claimed responsibility for these incidents—nor has any official or administrative statement been issued—the nature of the attacks suggests the involvement of armed Baloch separatist groups. These simultaneous incidents of roadblocks and gunfire across various districts raise serious questions regarding the government’s writ and administrative control in the region.
