Two Pakistani citizens were killed and one was injured by security forces’ fire while attempting to ‘infiltrate’ the Indian state of Punjab.
The incident occurred at the international border in Kasur, where the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) opened fire, resulting in the deaths of two Pakistani citizens and injuries to a third.
India’s state-run media, ‘All India Radio,’ citing BSF sources, reported that the two deceased Pakistani citizens were attempting to ‘infiltrate’ Indian Punjab and were ‘illegally crossing the India-Pakistan border.’
Conversely, Pakistan’s state media, citing security sources, claimed that three local Pakistani citizens from the ‘Laddhar village’ in Kasur district had stepped just a few paces beyond the border pillar when Indian Border Security Forces targeted them without warning.
Pakistan’s state media has identified the two deceased citizens as Azmat Rasool and Mohsin Jatt.
