We will not back down until demands for fundamental rights are met; the public continues to resist: Sardar Umar Nazir Kashmiri

Pakistan-administered Jammu and Kashmir: Sardar Umar Nazir Kashmiri, a leader of the Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee, stated that a series of killings of peaceful Kashmiris has been ongoing in Pakistan-administered Jammu and Kashmir since June 5. From the martyred Shahzaib Habib to the martyred Ashfaq Ahmed, those who laid down their lives did so for the fundamental rights of the people.

In his statement, Sardar Umar Nazir Kashmiri noted that the Kashmiri people have been facing a tense situation for the past four months, living in constant fear that a bullet could claim their lives at any moment. He asserted that despite the situation imposed by the authorities, the public has resolved not to retreat under any circumstances until their demands for fundamental rights are fulfilled.

He alleged that a large number of security forces are deployed from Bhimber to Taobut; the sanctity of homes is being violated, shops are being forced open, and the administration is allegedly resorting to blackmail. According to him, despite these conditions, the people continue to resist for the sake of their rights.

Sardar Umar Nazir Kashmiri stated that the blood of the martyrs would bear fruit and the sacrifices of the people would not go in vain. He urged the public to play their part in the struggle for their rights.

Concluding his statement, he expressed hope that, with the help and support of Allah Almighty, the people would emerge victorious in their struggle.
