Violation of Maritime Boundaries: 4 Pakistani Fishermen Arrested in India

India has arrested four Pakistani fishermen and seized their boat on charges of violating maritime boundaries in the Sir Creek area.

According to Noor Muhammad Themoor, Vice Chairman of the Fisherfolk Forum, the four fishermen—Abdul Qadir Themoor, Muhammad Musa, Asghar Themoor, and Ehsan—had ventured into the deep sea to catch fish and shrimp when they were arrested by Indian security forces.

The Vice Chairman of the Fisherfolk Forum stated that all four fishermen hail from Chhachh Jahan Khan, a coastal area in Sujawal.

The Fisherfolk Forum has demanded that immediate information be provided regarding the well-being and legal status of the arrested fishermen, and has urged that necessary steps be taken—on humanitarian grounds—to ensure their swift release and repatriation.
