US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who is on a visit to India, was asked whether India has expressed any concerns about Pakistan’s role as a mediator in the US-Iran conflict.
Marco Rubio’s response was: ‘India always points out that armed terrorist groups are operating from Pakistani soil and targeting India. They are always concerned about that.’
However, according to the US Secretary of State: ‘As far as Pakistan’s role as a mediator and facilitator in the Iran issue is concerned, that issue has never come up.’
Marco Rubio said: ‘I don’t think they will object to it. Their problem with Pakistan is different.’

Answering a question from journalists, Marco Rubio said that we have a very strong proposal.
According to the US Secretary of State, the features of this proposal are that the Strait of Hormuz should be opened and negotiations on nuclear issues should be started by setting a time.
Marco Rubio expressed hope that ‘we will make it possible.’
He said that this proposal has strong support in the Gulf countries and at the international level.
According to Marco Rubio: ‘The country that we spoke to believes that this is not only reasonable but also the right move for the world.’
He was asked what the delay was then? Marco Rubio replied that the Iranian regime takes time to respond.
He said: ‘Either we will make a good deal or we will deal with this issue in some other way.’
The question was whether Lebanon will also be part of this deal?
The US Secretary of State said that “separate work is being done on Lebanon.”
He said that as long as armed Hezbollah exists in Lebanon, it will be difficult to achieve peace.
