FIR registered against dozens of leaders and workers of Public Action Committee in Khurshidabad

For the complete shutter down and general strike on September 9 in Pakistan-administered Kashmir on the call of Jammu Kashmir Joint Public Action Committee (JKJAAC), the Haveli administration has registered a case (FIR) against several local leaders and dozens of workers of Khurshidabad, which has drawn a strong reaction from the Public Action Committee.

According to sources, the people against whom cases have been registered by the administration include Ansar Majeed Dar, Faisal Javed Mir, Gohar Sharif Mir, Nasir Faqir Mir, Asif Ahad Mir, Sharif Mir Azad, Sajjad Rafiq Mir, Anwar Mir, Habib Thakkar, Mushtaq Thakkar, Shaida Kashar, Inam Mir, and Hamza Dar, along with dozens of other associates.

Reacting to the incident, the Public Action Committee Khurshidabad/Haveli has completely rejected this move of the administration, calling it political revenge and an act of cowardice.

The committee spokesperson says, “We are keeping this FIR on the tip of our shoe. Dozens of cases have already been registered against several of our colleagues and we have no fear of these actions of the administration.”

The Public Action Committee has warned the Haveli administration that if the police or the administration tries to arrest any leader or worker, such fierce and unprecedented resistance will be seen from Khursheedabad that the administration will have to face the consequences.
