Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has claimed that Israel has killed Mohammed Ouda, the head of Hamas’s military wing in Gaza.
The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office wrote in a statement on the social media platform X that Mohammed Ouda was Hamas’s intelligence chief at the time of the October 7 attacks and had been appointed head of Hamas’s military wing a week earlier, following the death of Izz al-Din Haddad.
They claimed that Mohammed Ouda was responsible for the “murder, kidnapping and wounding” of Israeli civilians and military personnel.
“We will continue to pursue all those who participated in the October 7 massacre. Sooner or later, Israel will reach them all.”
Hamas has not yet confirmed or denied Mohammed Ouda’s death.
Meanwhile, local aid workers and witnesses said at least three Palestinians were killed and more than 20 wounded in an Israeli airstrike on a residential building in one of Gaza City’s busiest markets.
The Israeli strike targeted the top three floors of the Al-Kiyali building in the heart of Gaza City. The attack came as people were shopping in the area ahead of Eid al-Adha.
Aid and rescue teams rushed to the scene, but the destruction and the crowding in the area made it difficult to reach the upper floors of the building.
Witnesses said at least five missiles hit the building almost simultaneously and from different directions.
This is the latest deadly Israeli attack on Gaza.
