Jammu and Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee ( JKJAAC ) member Afi Raja has said in a statement that the Joint Awami Action Committee has always struggled to achieve its rights peacefully.
He said that yesterday, the head of the action committee, Shaukat Nawaz Mir, was arrested after heavy firing when he was going to Rawalakot via Dhirkot.
Afi Raja strongly condemned the arrest of Shaukat Nawaz Mir and demanded that he be released immediately or produced in court within 24 hours.
He said that after the arrest of Shaukat Nawaz Mir, Kashmiris living all over the world, including Azad Kashmir, are protesting and this grief is not limited to Muzaffarabad only, but the whole of Kashmir stands with the people of Muzaffarabad.
He said that the current situation is very critical and sensitive, therefore, the people of Muzaffarabad are appealed to remain completely peaceful and refrain from any kind of protest or taking to the streets in the city for the time being.
According to Afi Raja, the members of the core committee of the Joint Awami Action Committee are currently engaged in important consultations, so the people should not take any step that would give an opportunity to hostile elements or law enforcement agencies to harm the movement.
He appealed to the people to strictly follow the SOPs issued by the Action Committee, maintain discipline and be ready at all times while waiting for the final plan of action in the future because a regular call can be given at any time.
