The ongoing sit-in, shutter-down and wheel-jam movement called by the Joint Public Action Committee in Pakistan-administered Jammu and Kashmir has entered its 53rd day.
According to the committee, several people have been killed and injured in different divisions during the protests and clashes.
According to the Joint Public Action Committee, 98 workers have lost their lives in Poonch division since June 5, while about a thousand people have been injured.
Similarly, 6 people were killed and dozens injured in Mirpur division, while 10 people were killed in Muzaffarabad division and several injured were shifted to various hospitals and medical camps.
Meanwhile, protest demonstrations were held in different countries of the world during the last two days to express solidarity with Kashmiris. According to the Joint Public Action Committee, rallies and protests were held in various cities of Pakistan, including the United States, Britain, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Karachi, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Punjab.
According to the committee, hundreds of people, including youth and women, were detained after protests in Rawalpindi and Islamabad over the past two days.
The Joint Public Action Committee has alleged in its statement that the government is trying to suppress protest voices through force.
The committee says that the use of force instead of suppressing public voices becomes more organized.
