The Jammu Kashmir Joint Public Action Committee, a public movement of Pakistan-administered Jammu and Kashmir, has issued a statement expressing concern and making demands on various important issues.
According to the statement, the Jammu Kashmir Joint Public Action Committee has expressed deep sorrow and concern over the sudden death of Dr. Fariha, a resident of Bagh Maloot, at Fatima Jinnah Women University, Lahore. The committee has demanded a clear, transparent and impartial investigation into the incident and said that those responsible should be punished according to the law.
The statement said that recruitment to other government posts, including education, should be done only on the basis of merit and for this, a transparent procedure should be adopted through the National Testing Service Pakistan and the Public Service Commission Azad Kashmir. The Action Committee rejected the third-party formula for vacant posts and called it against merit.
The committee strongly condemned the alleged targeting of journalist Sohrab Barkat and stressed on the protection of freedom of expression.
The statement demanded that the ECL and PCL lists be made public and that the unjustified surveillance of citizens should be stopped.
The Jammu Kashmir Joint Public Action Committee also strongly protested against the provision of substandard and substandard flour to the people of Azad Kashmir and said that the provision of standard flour and full quota should be ensured immediately.
Regarding the health card, the committee demanded that the government of Azad Kashmir and the State Life Insurance Corporation remove the concerns of the action committee so that better and effective medical facilities can be provided to the people. The statement also announced full support for the legitimate demands of health workers.
Finally, the Jammu Kashmir Joint Public Action Committee said that a decisive call will be given on June 9 for the implementation of the 38-point Charter of Demand, which has been accepted under the joint agreement between the government of Pakistan and the government of Azad Kashmir. The final details of the call should be released at the next meeting of the Action Committee.
